At different times, I will change these list of rules if I see fit. I will even put the last date in which the rules were updated, so ignorance is no excuse. All of these rules must be acknowledged and followed. A warning will be given if the rule broken is a misdemeanor, but some of these rules being broken can result in immediate deletion and perhaps an account ban with no warning at all.
Rules for Twilight of Darkness:
~ You need to be active on this forum. Do not join with the intention of staying on for only a day, or make an account without remaining a true member. It bugs the heck out of me when I notice members join, and only remain on the site for a day or two, and some only get on once and never come on again. If you know you are going to do that, or are not interested, then do not join. It might sound as though I am coming off harsh, but this really is common sense. If there is tolerable reason to why you might be unable to come on the site for an extended period of time, then state your reasons in the Introductions and Exodus board.
~ Treat the fellow members of the site with respect, especially the staff. If a fight is beginning to brew, then try ending it. This rule applies to the forum and the cbox. If there is a particular subject you are having frustration with/about, then bring it to PM, or contact a staff member. No topic starters about race, religion, politics, etc....Either way, this can eventually lead to offensiveness for some, and a brawl starts. If you do not know how to keep your mouth shut, then do not open your mouth, or you best learn.
~ No repugnant or vile photos, whether in a signature or icon, or your character profile picture, will be allowed on the site. Pornographic images are strictly forbidden, and any immensely disgusting talk is also a no.
~ Profanity is allowed on Twilight of Darkness, but try to refrain from having each of your sentance and post containing multiple and/or various curses all of the time.
~ The majority of us upon this forum are writers and educated, meaning you should at least know the basic form of literacy. If you are bad at spelling, then use spell check, and try your best at grammar. It is simple enough to use capital letters, correct placement of commas, and sentance structure throughout a post. Please, refrain from using chat speak all of the time as well. It really just becomes irritating for some of us.
~ SPAM. I am so-so with this factor. If you are merely writing multiple lines upon the c-box, I am not that bothered by it. However, sending multiple links over the c-box that seem eternal is restricted. Double posting is an included factor in this, and whether roleplaying, or writing another post on a board, I do not want any double posting. It is easy enough to edit a previous post.
Roleplaying Rules:
~ The point of view to be used is first-person and third-person narrative, but second person narrative is not allowed. Second-person narrative is easily confusing, and I can find it to be a little agitating. Although I would prefer the usage of third-person, first is allowed, as I stated. ^^
~ The basic roleplaying rules should be clear to you in this. I do not want any chat speak, mary-sues, godmodding, powerplaying of characters, and so on. Apocalyptic, god-like characters are illegal on this site unless you obtain permission from one of the Head Admins: Pyro, Sakora, or myself.
~ Be descriptive in your posts. Unless you are of a young age, there is no excuse to put only one to two sentances in a post. A decent sized paragraph is good enough, and noted as basic. As stated in the earlier rules, spelling should be no large issue, and basic grammer is simple enough as well.
~This is a PG-13 rated site. Blood, violence, and gore is hardly a large problem on here, meaning you can be as descriptive as you wish on that factor. Swearing is fine, but do not stretch the limits with the cursing of your character. Pg-13 level romance is allowed. You should know how far you can go, and when you should stop. No warnings on that topic.
~The majority of threads on the forum are either open to enter, or reserved for private. Even if a thread is open, please ask if you can enter it before barging in unannounced. This is not necessarily a rule, but a number of members prefer if you ask to join their topic.
These are all of the present rules, and I will add on more later if I need, too.
